The final day of Band Camp – Friday August 6

Band camp on the final day is from 8 am until noon.  The students are then free in the afternoon until 5 pm when they need to report ready for photos and the evening performance.

There will be a performance on the JV football field at 6 pm for parents and friends followed by a picnic (see below for more info).  We anticipate having photo buttons ready to pick up and parent spirit wear to order at this time.

Mr. Talley

Arts in Education: Doug Talley, Shawnee Mission

Jazz composer, performer and music educator working in the Shawnee Mission School District, Doug Talley has had an award-winning 25-year career teaching jazz, mentoring students, and developing the talent of young Kansas musicians. A thank you message to all band members:
Please accept my heartfelt thanks for your tribute to my daughter Kelsey
during your show at the game. I was stunned that another school cared
enough to do that and it meant a great deal to me.

I stayed and watched the entire show after the game and then tried to
individually thank as many members of the band as I could but I was not
able to speak to each one. I would appreciate it if you would relay how
much I appreciate the efforts of you and your band. It meant so much to
me.

Kindest Regards,

Greg
